"What we have done over the period of the last few months, with the involvement of Strelmark, is get the team focused externally, looking at our capabilities and offerings from the outside in, rather than the inside out. Hilary got us past a product orientation, past a technology orientation, to speaking to their capabilities and their offering through the eyes of the client  from the perspective of what the impact to the client would be. Hilary drove this home to our team in a very intense way over a period of the week that we rehearsed. When Hilary showed up to work with our program manager in this state, it was intense because this individual had been very successful in running that operation for years, and now was in a position with someone from the outside sent in to coach them on how to describe what they did for a living. The end result was that after the presentation was complete and we were leaving, the program manager pulled me aside and commented that this could not have happened without Hilary; she was so appreciative of the work Hilary had done with her. And the transformation from my perspective was astonishing. You couldn’t believe the difference in the perspective of the communication that occurred over a period of a week. The results we produced last week really exemplified a very enormous strength that Hilary brings to the table. We took, in this case, a program manager very used to running autonomously and provided her input that for most people could be very unpalatable. But the unique feature here was that Hilary was able to do that with a style and presence that was very palatable to some very senior staff, some direct reports of mine in the organization, without being offensive, without causing any bristling, but rather folks embraced it and took the comments to heart and we had a real transformation in the presentation that resulted.”
